House M. is a one family house in the outskirts of a town. The rectangular main building has a saddle roof and a northern, subordinated, annex with a pent roof.
Extract from the vote of the jury to the Leon Battista Alberti awards:
"This dignified home at the edge of an upper Bavarian hamlet is almost austere in its simplicity and is exemplary for contemporary construction in rural areas. The linearity of the typical saddle roof complies with the stern form of the main building as well as with the generous design of the two-level interior. In its modesty, the building evokes the architecture of the shaker and impresses by its reduction to the basic elements of wall, roof and ceiling. A linear, open staircase is responsible for the inner development."
